About Wedding Budget Calculator
We’re on a mission to make wedding finances transparent — so every couple can plan their big day without the sticker shock.
Why We Built This
Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting — and expensive — milestones in life. Yet when you search for “how much does a wedding cost,” you get vague ranges, paywalled reports, and vendor quotes that vary wildly by ZIP code. We built the Wedding Budget Calculator to solve exactly that problem.
Our calculator gives you an instant, personalized, and data-backed budget estimate in under 60 seconds. No sign-up. No paywall. No sales calls. Just honest numbers.
Who We Are
We are a small team of wedding industry researchers, financial analysts, and software engineers who share a frustration with opaque pricing in the $70+ billion U.S. wedding market.
- Our research team has spent hundreds of hours aggregating real-world vendor pricing data from public sources — Reddit’s r/weddingplanning community, The Knot’s annual surveys, WeddingWire cost guides, and localized vendor directories across all 50 states.
- Our financial analysts calibrate every line item against cost-of-living indices (COLI), regional sales tax schedules, and inflation-adjusted consumer spend aggregates to ensure estimates reflect actual market conditions in your city.
- Our engineering team designs and maintains the calculator engine, ensuring sub-100ms recalculation on every interaction so you see results in real time.
How We’re Different
Most wedding cost “calculators” are lead-generation funnels for vendor marketplaces. They collect your data and sell it to the highest bidder. Ours is a genuine independent tool:
- No vendor kickbacks. We don’t accept referral fees or commissions from vendors.
- Transparent math. Every number is traceable to a base cost, a COLI multiplier, and a tier adjustment. Read our full Methodology for the details.
- Privacy-first. Calculator inputs stay in your browser via URL params. We only collect an email if you voluntarily request the PDF guide.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
We re-calibrate our base cost data quarterly. The 15% contingency buffer baked into every estimate is grounded in industry best practice — experienced planners consistently recommend budgeting 10–20% above your expected total for last-minute changes, weather contingencies, and hidden fees.
That said, our estimates are exactly that: estimates. Actual costs depend on your specific choices, vendors, and location. We encourage every couple to get written quotes before committing to any vendor contract.
